The EUI School of Transnational Governance will welcome a new cohort of Policy Leader Fellows in September, which is various in terms of geography, age and thematic focus.
The STG Policy Leader Fellowship programme enters its fourth round with the academic year 2020/21. The programme offers an opportunity for early- to mid career policy leaders from around the globe to develop their topics and their professional skills while participating in workshops, trainings, conferences and other events organised by the School and the other units at the European University Institute.
From September onwards, 37 fellows will come to Florence, either for the first or second semester, or for the entire academic year. The candidates were selected from a pool of 741 applications.
The new cohort features a great variety in terms of geography, age and thematic work focus; countries of origin range from Perù to Botswana and from Mongolia to Latvia, the youngest being 24 and the oldest 46 years old. They will all work on their own topic during their time at the STG ranging from global governance of laser systems for space, politics of climate change to models for innovation ecosystems.
Experience from the past years show that not only the fellows benefit from the diversity of the group but the School as well as the entire EUI community enjoys the dynamic versatile contributions. Different fields of expertise and perspectives meet in Florence, generating new ideas and discussions on the future of European and transnational governance.
