Professional Development

Students are equipped with all the practical skills they need to build an excellent career, preparing them to hold leadership and management positions in government, non-profit organisations, international organisations, research institutions and private sector multi-national companies.

We regard professional development as an integral part of our programme. To complement the foundational knowledge acquired in the courses, we offer a wide range of training opportunities in:

  • Project Management
  • Communications
  • Fundraising
  • Gender Mainstreaming
  • Leadership
  • Networking
  • Team work
  • Ethics in Policy-making
  • Career and CV tutoring

Selected students will have the unique opportunity to participate to a range of executive education and training programmes, enabling professional networking and career-defining traineeship opportunities.

Internships

Students will undertake an internship in the summer between their first and second year. The internship will give students the opportunity to apply and complement what they have learnt.

If the student chooses to design a Capstone Project, they can already start working on it during the internship.

The internship awards 10 ECTS for a minimum of 250-300 hours and is a compulsory part of the programme. However, students with past working experience relevant to the programme can be eligible for an exemption.
