Rosario Sergio Maniscalco

Rosario Sergio Maniscalco holds a Masters in European Studies and International Relations at the Sapienza University in Rome, and obtained his Ph.D. at the University of Turku, Finland, within the Doctoral Programme on Comparative Research on Educational Policy. He has extensive experience in the field of EU policy-making and governance. Over the last ten years he has published several scientific articles and worked in the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research as a policy analyst, project coordinator, and contributed to the EU policy-making as member of the Council of the EU’s Education Committee. He has served as national delegate and expert in several Committees and Working Groups of the European Commission and the OECD. At the STG, he investigates new tools and modes of governance emerging in the EU as an evolution of the Open Method of Coordination and their potential impact, with particular reference to the education sector.
