 Sumbal Bashir

Sumbal Bashir is a development practitioner and a fulbright scholar with over five years of experience working on social innovation and development projects. Before joining EUI, she worked with Mott Macdonald on DFID’s projects for improving health and education in Pakistan. Previously, she led a US-Embassy funded project at Akhter Hameed Khan Resource Center (AHKRC) to establish a library and learning center for young girls in an urban slum.

Sumbal holds a Master's degree in Innovations Management and Entrepreneurship from Temple University (USA) and a Bachelor's degree from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS, Pakistan). She was selected for participation in an Executive Training Seminar on Evidence-Based Policy-Making at EUI and received a scholarship for a training on Innovative Financing for Education at the Central European University (Hungary).

As a Policy Leader Fellow, Sumbal will be examining the role of international aid and development in mainstreaming gender in public policies in developing countries.
