Franki Hackett is Head of the Data Analytics Research Team at the UK National Audit Office, where she leads a world-leading team of auditors and data scientists to develop data analytics tools for the audit of government bodies in the UK. As a trained data scientist and auditor with a background in political economy, Franki has worked in the third and public sectors in the UK on issues as broad as gender justice and machine learning quality assurance. Franki is involved in multiple transnational audit and public finance initiatives.

Franki’s research interests are in transnational tax fairness and transparency, and the impact of differing tax rates on economies within and beyond Europe. During her EUI policy fellowship she proposes to create an open data tool allowing citizens and policy makers to interrogate the corporation tax paid by multinational firms in EU countries.
