Augusto Rey is a public policy expert with over ten years of experience in positions that include political representation, consulting and management at the local, national and international levels. He holds a MSc in Urban Development Planning from University College London as a Chevening Scholar. He also holds an MSc in Political Science and Government from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.
He has been an elected councilman for the Metropolitan Council of Lima, and a consultant at the Inter-American Development Bank and the Education Ministry of Peru. Former, he has been an advisor to the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima.
He has been a Global Shaper of the World Economic Forum and nowadays he is a daily Op-Ed columnist in Peru 21, a Peruvian nationwide newspaper, from where he influences the Peruvian national debate on democracy, politics, human rights, and social struggles.
