Nima Tshering Fellowship period: 1 January 2020 - 30 June 2020 Nima Tshering is Strategic Advisor to Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa, currently the ruling party in Bhutan. He played a central role in the formation of Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa, a Bhutanese political party founded on the social democracy principles of freedom, justice and solidarity. In 2018 parliamentary democratic elections, he played a strategic role in Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa’s convincing win to form the government in Bhutan. He also worked as a Deputy Royal Chamberlain to His Majesty the King of Bhutan, worked as a public policy consultant for the World Bank, was named a young global leader by the World Economic Forum in 2013 and was selected as a Global Scholar at Center for Universal Education at the Brookings Institution in Washington DC. Tshering holds a M.P.A./I.D. from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, a M.E.M. from the University of Canterbury, and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kansas, which he attended as a Fulbright scholar.
