MaryAnne Iwara is a practitioner in peacebuilding with many years of professional experience in developing resilience in societies prone to violent conflict, through capacity building and policy advice.
Ms. Iwara currently works with the Nigerian Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution, where she leads research, policy engagement and training initiatives on conflict management, conflict prevention, peacebuilding, as well as conflict-sensitive governance.
She contributed to the establishment of the National Peace Academy (NPA), the foremost civilian home-grown Peacebuilding Training Institute in Nigeria.
Ms. Iwara holds an MA in African Peace and Conflict Studies, a PgD in Strategic Management and a BA in History and International Studies.
