David Adler

David Adler is a political economist from Los Angeles, USA. He is currently the policy director of the Democracy in Europe Movement (DiEM25) and the coordinator of its Green New Deal for Europe campaign.

He was previously a policy fellow at the Institute for Global Change in London, and a Rhodes Scholar at New College, University of Oxford, where he examined the comparative political economy of property markets.

David’s prior research focused on housing provision in the Global South. At the Centre for Policy Research in New Delhi, he investigated the Delhi Development Authority and the role of bureaucracy in slum redevelopment. As a Fulbright Scholar at the Colegio de México in Mexico City, he developed an inclusive housing strategy for the Housing Commission of the Mexican Senate. David's research and writing have appeared in the New York Times, the Guardian, and the Washington Post, among others.
